Reporting cycle

From intake deadlines to LP distribution

A practical map of how private equity portfolio reporting moves through a month or quarter when Portalhorizoncore is on the engagement.

Most sponsors lose time not in chart-making but in unclear ownership: who chases the late company pack, who signs KPI definitions, who decides when a partial update is acceptable. This page is our shared operating picture before a pack engagement begins.

Week structure for a quarterly pack

  1. 01
    Definition lock

Glossary, bridge lines, and distribution date agreed with partners and IR. Changes after this point are logged as scope.

  2. 02
    Intake window

Administrator extracts, capital accounts, and company packs arrive against a published checklist. Late items trigger the partial-update path.

  3. 03
    Draft and challenge

Working pack reviewed with the investment team. Commentary revised for LP tone without erasing IC-level detail in the internal appendix.

  4. 04
    Distribution

Final PDF and editable tables delivered. We remain on call through the LP send window for factual corrections only.

When this model fits

  • You already have an administrator and need clearer LP materials
  • Your portfolio spans sectors that argue about metric names
  • Regional LPs force earlier soft deadlines than local close dates
